Solid hardwood convertible furnishings for the indoors and outdoors that are altogether different.
No need to struggle with converting sofas to beds, or to adjust reclining angles on loungers.
The Nikita Design self-converts so you can relax and Just Lean Back!
Every piece we make can be used either indoors only or both indoors and outdoors
depending on your choice of materials for the frame, cushions and covers.
Designed and Built in the USA
Nikita sofabeds, chair beds, futons and loungers have wheels and a patented, self-balancing, infinite recline design, which makes them easy to move and virtually effortless to convert. Practically anyone, alone, can convert a Nikita Convertible from sofa to bed and back to sofa again. Nikita sofabed frames, futon frames and loungers are designed to "self-balance", the frame itself carries most of the weight of the mattress - making it almost effortless for the the user.
This is a big part of the reason why the Nikita Sofabed is so popular in Active Adult Communities in our upstate New York area where our two showrooms are located. Another reason is that the smaller Nikita Convertibles, like Loveseats and Chairs, fit well into smaller spaces such as , three-season rooms, dens and guest rooms and yet roll easily together to make double, full, queen and even king size beds!
The third reason is the transitional styling of these convertible furnishing frames which sport clean, bold, simple lines that can mix with any existing decor. For those who do not want the look of a futon mattress but still want the versatility of a “futon”, we offer box cushions in any array of fabulous fabrics that present a more polished, modern, contemporary furnishings look. Sunbrella and outdura fabrics are used for our outdoor futons, outdoor sofa beds and outdoor lounger beds. So you can roll your Made in USA" Nikita Convertibles, maybe not around the whole of America, but certainly from your den out onto your deck.
In short: Nikita "futons" are so different, we prefer to call them the "unfuton"futon.
