Integrated Design
The single, wide front board that is signature to the Nikita Scandia Series is, unlike in other sofabed designs, not a cosmetic coverup of the "double chin" look (see DESIGN COMPARISON) but an integral and functional part of the Nikita "uniframe" or "one frame" design. The beautiful wide board not only accounts for the desirably clean aesthetics of the Scandia line, it provides essential strength!

The bed is perfectly level, sturdy and rigid
because it has 3 levels of support:
- 1.the slats
- 2.the rails underneath the slats
- 3.the stretchers that run underneath the rails
The support extends underneath throughout.
The result is that there is no swaying or rocking of the bed and virtually no sag at all in the middle of the bed. All of this is important because no matter how supportive the mattress may be, if the bed frame sags in the middle, so will even the best mattress.
Mattress manufacturers go to great lengths to develop mattresses that provide the spine with proper support. But this is all useless if the bed frame does not support the mattress! If the bed frame sags in the middle even a small amount, then the mattress also sags in the middle by the same amount. Then your spine is deformed during sleep causing crimping of muscles and nerves, poor circulation and tiredness and aches in the morning.
The Nikita design avoids these problems.
With its patented triple support underneath the entire bed, there is virtually no bending or sagging the the middle.
